After last week’s deliberations presented on these pages, One Sport have finally confirmed the dates and venues of the 2022 Speedway European Championship. The competition will start in Rybnik on July 2 and it will be the fourth time the Upper-Silesian club stages a SEC round. Thirty-four days later (August 6) the troupe move to Gustrow, which will be Germany’s top event in 2022 as the SGP is non-existent in Martin Smolinski’s homeland this year. The second part of the competition will be held in new locations as September 3 will see the third round on Lodz’s Motoarena that was built less than four years ago. The final and decisive round is pencilled in for September 23 when top European riders will meet in Pardubice, where they will decide who a new Euro champion will be. Petr Moravec of ACCR commented: “We have been cooperating with One Sport since they entered the world speedway. So far we have organised numerous successful World Under-21 finals, but this year will bring us many changes as we will be entering another level of our cooperation. It is a very good piece of news for all speedway fans.”
